Tactics & Strategies:

Camping

Camping is not a “NO WAY” thing in Black Ops, but of course it must be done in moderate, and not using the same spot again and again. Once you have killed either one or two enemies at your camping spot, you must definitely move on, as your camping location has been compromised and enemies would come in groups to end your streak. So after a few kills, once you feel it’s enough, you got to move on, but for those who have equipped claymore, you can set a “little trap” for those who are going to your camping spot to hunt you down, and who knows, if they come in groups, you may even get a multi-kill!

Now for people who don’t really know how to use camping efficiently, here is a little guide. Firstly, your location must be those that are in mid field, so that you can ensure that your enemies will pass-by and enter your location in order for you to get the kill. Secondly, you must be patient, you CANNOT let down your guard even when there’s no enemy passing by, because every time you let your guard down, you can give your enemy the chance for a free kill. Thirdly, your camping location has to have at most only two entrances, or even better, just one. Because when you are expecting someone to walk in from a certain door, another guy may come in from the other and you will receive a backstab. Hence you can only camp at areas where meets the requirements and gives enough cover. But for those who have claymore, you can use it as a defense against anyone that is coming from your back.

Of course, camping should not be used consistently, roaming around with a tactic can actually earn you more kills rather than wasting your time sitting duck while everyone out there is having their kills earned. And gamers totally DETEST players who use camping in a simply very “GAY” way, so please try to not do it. ^_^"

Choosing Weapons

You can’t say that when this weapon is good, you always use that specific weapon. You have to be flexible and try out different weapons and check which weapon is better in what situation and suits you the most, for example you can ask yourself some of these following questions. Is this assault rifle better in long range or close? Is it better in defense or offense? Of course, like what is stated, assault rifles are better in long range to mid range while sub-machine guns are better in mid range to close range, but sometimes this rule is exceptional.

Examples are like the Famas, it is a well-known assault rifle which is used by many gamers but it has its weakness, which is its recoil. When it is used at mid or close range, it could be true that it would be the best assault rifle in that factor due to its high firing rate, but when it comes to long range, the recoil produced by the high firing rate will cause the shots to be totally off, it gets even worst when a ACOG scope is attached.

While an SMG, ak74u is actually good in all aspect even when it is a SMG, it can even be used at long range conditions if the user can control the gun well. This is all just for reference! :)

On The Move

Players are usually on the move, but everyone hates it when you just suddenly die when there was even no one in sight, here is little guide that should improve your situation a little. While moving around, stick close to covers such as crates or containers as it would be harder for enemies to spot you, rather than staying in an open area where you are so obviously exposed, where all snipers’ eyes are glue on you, ready to take the shot. While doing so, you can also check your surroundings for Charlie or sharpshooters before moving on while reducing the chance of getting killed.

Also you can try looking back constantly while moving, just in case some lunatic jumps out and tries to kick your ass. Of course, the key to moving safely and efficiently is to familiarize with the map, you can try playing Combat Training first and know where a good spot to camp is, where the enemies usually spawn, where are the covers that you can use, and where are the hotspots in the map. And the following mistake is something that all newbie always make…

When these players move, they often stick straight to their route, for example when they enter a room, and there are two doors, so they always go through one of the doors without fail. What I meant was that, other than taking those two doors, they can always take the route that they came from, which means going back and switch their route completely, this is known as flexibility. It is also a tactic to keep enemies off your tail and to stay alive.
